Listen to the Word
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all
in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through
Him."
(Colossians 3:17)

We tend to separate our lives into compartments of "sacred"
and "secular." We would say that praying is sacred, but mowing the grass
is secular. Reading the Bible is sacred, but reading a chemistry textbook
is secular. Colossians 3:17 obliterates that distinction. It tells
us that every moment can be sacred time. "Whatever you do" can be done in
Jesus' name. Even the most ordinary, mundane task can become something
you do for Christ's sake. Your daily work can become an act of
worship. Your daily tasks can be done in partnership with him.

Live the Word
What is your next task for the day? Make an effort to
do that task "in the name of the Lord Jesus." Do it as he would do it if
he were in your place. Do it for him, and realize that he is with you as
you go.
