Listen to the Word
"Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."
(1 Samuel 3:10)

The
Bible is the story of a God who likes to talk. According to
Genesis, He spoke the universe into existence. He entered the
world as Jesus, the Word made flesh. The pages of Scripture are
filled with stories of God speaking to all kinds of people. He
spoke to spiritual giants and leaders, but He also spoke to regular
folks and rejects and rebels. He spoke to small children and to
people who had been AARP-eligible for decades.
God still speaks
today. He did not go mute after the final page of Scripture was
written. He has not developed laryngitis. If you have a
relationship with Him, you can expect Him to speak to you - that's what
people in relationships do. God has something to say to
you! Are you ready to listen?

Live the Word
Tell
God "thanks" for being a God who speaks. Make Samuel's prayer
yours, and repeat it often this week: "Speak, Lord, for your servant is
listening!"
