Listen to the Word May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
(Psalm 19:14)

Psalm
19:14 announces the profound truth that your words and thoughts matter
to God. You can actually bring Him pleasure with what comes out
of your mouth and what goes on in your heart. We will soak in
this rich verse each day this week. Today, notice one of the
names for God: He is your Redeemer. You were in danger, and
He rescued you. You were a slave, and He purchased you and set
you free. The fact that the all-powerful, all-perfect God is
listening to what you say and probing into your deepest thoughts sounds
absolutely terrifying - until you remember that He loves you so much
that He paid the price for your pardon. God is your Redeemer.
