Listen
to the Word Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have
believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have
believed." (John 20:29)

Thomas was one of the more famous doubters in the Bible. The risen
Jesus obliterated his doubts by standing before him, nail prints and
all. Then Jesus spoke the surprising words of John 20:29. He
said that doubting folks like us are the really fortunate ones - folks
who have the opportunity to believe without seeing, to trust without
having all our questions wiped away.
Trusting God when you have
all the answers is not faith - it is common sense. When you don't
understand fully, then you have the opportunity to trust fully.
Striving to trust God through your doubt produces a faith that is more
fully alive. It produces a faith that is really yours, and not
just an unexamined hand-me-down. God can use doubt to grow your
faith. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
