Listen
to the Word "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to
his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us
all."
(Isaiah 53:6)

Isaiah 53:6 communicates two key truths. Truth number one: all of
us have sinned. Everybody on earth has wandered off of God's path
and "turned to his own way." That includes you. You may do
your best. You may be nicer than the average person. You may
think you have committed nothing more than a few minor spiritual
misdemeanors. But you are flawed. You are guilty. You
have sinned.
Truth number two: God placed our sin on Jesus.
Jesus carried every awful thing anyone has ever done, every sin ever
committed. That includes yours. You are guilty, but instead
of taking it out of your hide, God placed your guilt on Jesus.
Jesus took the punishment for all of your crimes. He went to the
cross as your substitute. He died your death.

Live the
Word
Spend a moment in confession. Acknowledge your specific sins to
God, and thank Him that Jesus died to pay the penalty for them.
