Listen
to the Word They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us
while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"
(Luke 24:32)

Luke records a striking encounter between some disciples and the risen
Jesus on the road to Emmaus. The disciples don't realize that
their traveling companion is Christ until He breaks bread with them, and
then He is gone. After His departure, they reflect on the fire
that was kindled within them by being in His presence and hearing His
voice.
Christianity is the way of the burning heart. The
Christian is the person who travels with Christ, whose life is aflame
with the love, truth, and joy of Jesus.
