Listen
to the Word "He is the
image of the invisible God."
(Colossians 1:15)
|

In Colossians 1:15-20, Paul begins thinking about how
amazing Jesus is, and he can't stop piling on the praise. This
week we will examine some of the phrases he uses there to describe the
incomparable Christ.
Paul says that Jesus is the exact, visible
representation of the invisible God. When you look at Jesus, you
see the God who can't be seen. He is the best picture of God ever
taken. He illuminates God's essence. Paul reiterates the point
in verse 19, telling us that all of God's fullness dwells in
Christ. Jesus is God in the flesh. He has the same character,
the same compassion, the same courage. If you want to know what God
is like, look at Jesus. He is the image of the invisible God.
