to the Word "For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and
through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth
or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the
cross."
(Colossians 1:19-20)

Colossians 1:15-20 makes it clear the Jesus is supreme. No matter
how highly you think of Him, you underestimate Him. Paul concludes
his praise of the incomparable Christ with a reminder that Jesus died
to reconcile you and all of creation to God. Your relationship to
God has been broken by your own tendency to defy Him and ignore
Him. You are powerless to fix that problem on your own. But
Christ repairs the relationship by dying in your place, paying your
penalty. Jesus reconciles you to God.
