"Finally,
brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if
anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such
things." (Philippians
4:8)

One great way to live out the
instruction of Philippians 4:8 is to fill your mind with God's Word.
You can take key portions of Scripture and make them permanent fixtures
of your thought life.
You can meditate on a passage of Scripture:
continually recall it to your mind, soak in its meaning, engage your
imagination, and explore its connections with different facets of your
life. You can memorize Scripture. Sometimes I make excuses that I am not
good at memorizing, but then I realize that I can still sing every word
of most of the songs I listened to in high school, and I can recite
truckloads of useless sports trivia - I obviously have the ability to
memorize things that matter to me. So do you. And the God who designed
your brain will help you!
