New Children's Minister on the Way!
Exciting news: after an extensive search process, we have found our next Minister to Children! The personnel team is recommending David Maddron for service in that vital role. David and his family will be with us to weekend of January 11 for the church to get to know them and officially take action to call him to our staff. They will meet with children's ministry volunteers, and with children and parents. We will have a church-wide meeting at 2:00 pm Saturday January 10 to give all church members the chance to get to know David and ask any questions you may have. David will share a testimony in our morning worship services January 11, and we will vote on the personnel team's recommendation to hire him by ballot at the end of each morning service.
David is a kid magnet who loves God and loves people. For the last ten years he has led a thriving children's ministry at Victory Church in Scurry, Texas. He and his wife Misti launched that church's children's ministry as volunteers when the church was planted, and for the last few years he has served full time as children's pastor. He currently working toward a degree online through Midwestern Seminary. His wife Misti is a high school teacher who is a big part of his ministry. They have served as foster parents to several children, and have adopted three of those children as their own (Andrew, age 10; Autumn, age 5; and Adam, age 2). They also gave birth to a miracle named Asher in March of 2014, but he passed away a few months later.
Aside from his passionate support of Texas A&M football, we can't find much wrong with David. He has a heart for reaching kids and families, and he already has some exciting plans for ministry in Lee's Summit. Be praying for God to continue to do big things through our church in the lives of children and families. And make plans to meet David, Misti, and their kids the weekend of January 11!
